Patient-Centered Thinking and Achieving Optimal Outcomes in Patients with UC: A Care Team Forum®

Program Overview

Join Drs. Long and Dulai, nurse Schwab, and an experienced patient with ulcerative colitis (UC) as they highlight challenges in UC care from an interprofessional team perspective. During this activity you will learn how to apply a treat-to-target approach, select biologics based on real-world evidence, use clinical decision support tools, and optimize shared decision making for improved outcomes in patients with UC.

Target Audience

This activity is intended for gastroenterologists, GI surgeons, nurses, and other GI-focused clinicians who manage patients with ulcerative colitis (UC).

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Implement the treat-to-target approach for managing patients with ulcerative colitis (UC)
  • Select biologics for the treatment of UC using support tools in combination with evidence-based findings
  • Integrate the unique roles of the interprofessional care team when engaging in shared decision making for optimal management of UC
