Halting the Vicious Vortex: Case-based Discussions in Non-Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis

Program Overview

Non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFBE) is an irreversible, chronic lung disease that is becoming increasingly prevalent and is a growing public concern. In this uniquely designed, interactive activity, a dynamic interprofessional panel of clinical experts will discuss NCFBE cases that have been crowdsourced from community clinicians, providing their insight on treatment strategies. Discussions between the 3 clinical experts will combine elements of evidence-based data and practical strategies to help you diagnose, treat, and monitor patients with NCFBE.

Pulmonology, radiology, and primary care clinicians managing patients with NCFBE

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Identify patient-related risk factors that should raise the clinical index of suspicion for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFBE)
Utilize current criteria to readily diagnose patients with NCFBE
Apply conventional management approaches in patients with NCFBE
Analyze data supporting the role of neutrophil serine protease (NSP) in NCFBE pathophysiology and its utility as therapeutic target
Integrate the unique roles of the interprofessional care team when diagnosing and treating patients with NCFBE
